I had someone offer to buy one of my domains once and seeing the dollar signs, tossed out a ridiculously high number and waited for the certified check to hit my mailbox. I'm still waiting. The moral of this story: let them know you're willing to entertain offers first. :-) Unless it's Google doing the knocking, and then feel free to get crazy with the zeroes, I guess.
