Pingdom on November 7th, 2008 by Pingdom
The Pingdom website has been included as one of the examples in The Web Designer’s Idea Book. It is, as the name implies, a guide to themes, trends and styles in website design and was written by Patrick McNeil who also runs the very popular Design Meltdown web design portal. We have a copy of the book and can definitely say that it’s a really cool book, shock full with website inspiration.
Patrick chose to feature the 404 error campaign that we ran last year. If you are new here, or missed it when it happened, here is a video of what it looked like and how it behaved.

This isn’t the first time Pingdom has been featured in a book. Pingdom’s uptime monitoring service was discussed in the book Google Apps Hacks (published by O’Reilly), written by Philipp Lenssen, the man behind Google Blogoscoped.

So now the question is, when will Google also wrestle down Internet Explorer, and become the undisputed king of the browser world? In December 2011, Chrome 15 became the most popular browser in the world, beating Internet Explorer 8, but if you combine all IE versions, Microsoft still holds the number 1 spot.
Equipped with the latest web browser statistics from StatCounter, we set out to see when Chrome is likely to achieve more than 50% market share.
