An interesting read guys. I think what would be really interesting to see in this space is how the supporting infrastructure of these various social networks helps maintain uptime %. A lot of corporates are starting to think about different approaches to web infrastructure (cloud computing comes to mind), so I think they would definitely be interested in whether using these technologies can mitigate risk and improve uptime.

[...] Pingdom hat vor einigen Tagen einen neuen Bericht vorgelegt in dem sie die Ausfallzeitenfür 2008 der 15 größten sozialen Netzwerke im Internet unter die Lupe genommen haben.
Note that the term "Downtime" used here needs to be understood properly - what is "down" can vary depending on the context.

For example, even though MySpace probably returns a HTTP 200 OK 99.94% of the time, I don't believe there weren't more occasions during the reporting period where our friend "Tom" was doing "database maintenance".

Thank you for this great report! Lot of interesting statistics to dig through. I think 2009 will be a strong year for Twitter if they have solved the downtime issues.
I would have been interested in some data for jaiku as well.
