Firefox infographic – The road leading up to Firefox 4

As you no doubt have noticed by now, Mozilla launched Firefox 4 this week. It was downloaded 7.1 million times in the first 24 hours, and is now up to 15 million downloads and counting. We figured a Firefox infographic would be nice to celebrate this event, so we made one for you. We hope you like it!

Finally, a note on Firefox web browser market share, since those numbers tend to vary depending on your source.

Depending on who you ask, Firefox currently has a worldwide market share of anywhere from 22% to 31% (the former according to Net Applications, the latter according to StatCounter). The difference mostly depends on which websites make up the sample. Also worth noting is that when you look at individual countries, Firefox market share can be significantly higher than this. In Germany, for example, Firefox has more than 60% of the web browser market according to StatCounter. Ze Germans do like their Firefox.

I have downloaded it, and like it. Very user friendly and a remarkable decrease in crashes. So far, I am sold on it. Congrats to the firefox team!

Looking at the statistics, Symbian leads the mobile operating system race with just over 30% of web browsing traffic. That’s down slightly from late last year, when we noted that Symbian finished 2011 as the top mobile operating system, with almost 34% of the mobile OS market.

What is even more interesting, however, is that Nokia is also ahead when we look at figures for all the mobile handset vendors. In fact, Nokia is way ahead of Apple, and Android lags far behind.
