By adding RUM to your WordPress site using our brand new plugin, you will get answers to questions like what browsers your visitors use, how many of them are using tablets or other devices, where are they located, and many more. With this information you can then take steps to improve the performance of your site.
What Real User Monitoring can do for your WordPress website
If you have a blog or other website that runs WordPress, you’re in good company. WordPress is the most popular Content Management System (CMS) in the world. Right now, close to 65 million websites run WordPress.
To make it really easy for WordPress users to get started with their Pingdom Real User Monitoring service, we have developed a WordPress plugin that helps you start collecting RUM data.
Here’s how simple it is – just three simple steps:
If you don’t have one already, create a Pingdom account.
Install the plugin on your site following the instructions below.
Voila! You are up and running with Real User Monitoring collecting data from every visitor to your site.
Once the plugin is installed, you can view the results on the RUM page in your Pingdom control panel at my.pingdom.com.
Here are a few examples:
You can see how the load times for all visitors to your site are distributed, from the slowest to the fastest.
You can even see pageviews in real-time.
You can see what browsers visitors use to connect to your site and how the load time varies between the browsers.
You can see what devices visitors use when connecting to your site, e.g. desktop, tablet, phone, etc.
You can see from where in the world visitors connect to your site and how the load time varies between countries.
In total, all the data that Real User Monitoring presents you with will give you the actionable information you need in order to make the necessary updates that will benefit all your visitors.
