We have exciting news to share. As you may have noticed, we made some changes to the Pingdom website yesterday, and the main thing we added was a new account type that many of you are going to love: Pingdom Free.
Now, for the first time ever, you can use Pingdom for free. We’re not talking about a free trial, but a completely free account that you can use for as long as you like, no strings attached.

A new year has arrived, and we here at Pingdom have dived headlong into it. For example, just last week we launched a new iPhone app that can be used to access our uptime monitoring service.

We have released an iPhone application that can be used with the Pingdom uptime monitoring service. The aptly named Pingdom iPhone app lets you easily connect to Pingdom and view the current status of the monitoring you have set up.
This is a handy companion when you receive a problem alert from Pingdom, indicating an error with your website or servers. Just start the Pingdom iPhone app and examine the current status from your iPhone.

The popular tech blog Digital Inspiration just posted an independent survey of website monitoring services. And guess what? Pingdom came out on top.
The survey compared how quickly and reliably different monitoring services alert you if your website goes down. This is a very important metric for webmasters. The sooner you know that your website has gone down, the sooner you can do something about it.
